FOUNDATIONAL TECHNOLOGIES PRACTICE
The IEEE SA Foundational Technologies Practice has been established to help standardize seamless and ubiquitous connectivity across all applications of connected technologies in a trust-worthy and enabling manner. Though the development of a global community of interested volunteer stakeholders, the Foundational Technologies practice can help to address core issues of Trust, Identity, Privacy, Protection, Security and Safety (TIPPSS) through both foundational level horizontal standards and domain specific standards.
IEEE SENSORS REGISTRY
Authoritative and trustworthy sensor information
IEEE Sensors Registry (ISR) is a web-based service that will provide authoritative and trustworthy information on sensors products. The sensors market is a growing market that is expected to exceed USD 85 billion at a CAGR of 19%1. With this unprecedented growth, the industry continues to face challenges with inferior product quality, product misrepresentation, lack of adherence to standards and no offering of independent certification. These issues increase the risks for sensor buyers and cost.
HD-PLC WEBINAR SERIES
The High Definition - Power Line Communications (HD-PLC) technology, based on international standards, offers solutions in various fields such as home networking, industry, building automation and smart grid. The series will host 3 events that will discuss the IEEE 1901 standard, its amendments and ITU-T G.9905 multi-hop. The first session will introduce ANSI/CTA 709.8 LON HD-PLC and will provide insight into implementing PLC, which can help bring communications to rural & remote regions.
