About the Activity

Artificial intelligence (all forms) is rapidly becoming the operating infrastructure of advertising and marketing, shaping how brands communicate, how consumers engage, and how economic decisions are influenced at global scale. As organizations accelerate AI adoption, governance, accountability, and trust are emerging as the primary constraints on responsible innovation and sustainable performance.
 
Advertising, representing approximately $1.4 trillion in annual global spend, now provides the largest vertical and paradigm for the proliferation of multiple technologies linked to all AI systems, but lacks the responsible frameworks, standardization, and certification infrastructures every other high-risk profession has. That mismatch is where harm and liability emerge and provides the incentive for this Initiative.

Goals of the Activity

The goal of this Initiative is to convene leaders across industry, engineering, policy, academia, legal domains and consumer advocates to help organizations operationalize responsible AI deployment (all applications and systems, not only GenAI / Agentic AI) via any and all technologies supporting advertising, marketing, PR and the firms representing the world’s largest brands utilizing partners to communicate messaging and connect to their stakeholders.
