Topic: Standards Landscape in Africa – Challenges and Opportunities

This IEEE-SA Forum will bring together leading organizations to discuss the African standardization landscape and identify challenges and opportunities, and foster dialogue between key organizations.  Panelists to be announced later.

Important Travel Information


1. U.S. citizen visitors to South Africa for stays of up to 90 days for tourism, short business meetings, or in transit do not require visas in advance. Visitor visas will be issued at the port of entry in South Africa.
Folks from other countries will need to obtain their own passports/visas as necessary.

2. Please be advised that as per a requirement by South Africa immigration authorities, with immediate effect, customers traveling to any point in South Africa must have two (2) unused-blank pages in their passports. This applies to all types of passports for all foreign nationals excluding South Africans.

3. U.S. Citizens are encouraged to register their Johannesburg travel with Smart Travel Enrollment Program (STEP)
Non U.S. Citizens are encouraged to register Johannesburg travel arrangements with their respective Embassy or Consulate.
