Welcome to the Industry Connections Program

Bridging Collaboration and Innovation

The Industry Connections (IC) program helps incubate new standards and related products and services by facilitating collaboration among organizations and individuals as they hone and refine their thinking on rapidly changing technologies. IEEE SA provides a basic level of support to all IC activities.

Industry stakeholders play a vital role by providing expertise, advocating for standards, contributing resources, validating relevance, and promoting awareness. This ensures that standards remain effective and impactful.

The IC program offers an efficient environment for building consensus and producing shared results. We provide a range of resources to fast-track content and deliverables, including:

  • Proposals for standards
  • White papers
  • Peer-reviewed guides and position papers
  • Workshops, and events
  • Databases and registration services

Who Can Participate?

IC activities can be entity-based or individual-based, as specified in the Industry Connections Activity Initiation Document (ICAID).

For more information about the Industry Connections program, check out our program flyer or email the IC Program Administrator.

Current Industry Connections (IC) Activities

Distributed Ledger Technology for the Key Economic Sectors

While exploring the Distributed Ledger Technology for the Key Economic Sectors and related tasks, the group uncovered the existing necessity for creation of a set of standards that will cover not one case among many but will provide an extensive set of standards addressing the full cycle of needs arising in each particular sector of the economy.

The Convergence of Medicine and Engineering

The activity is motivated by the rapid growth of China’s medical technology (MedTech) sector, fueled by an industry-wide strategic push to drive innovation at the convergence of medical and engineering fields. While this ecosystem is vibrant, there remains a need for a formal, globally recognized platform to advance pre-standardization research and collaboration.

Water Resource Management Technologies

Accuracy in terms of actual water availability and quality in any region of the world is what can / will determine the safety and longevity of all humans, species, and biodiversity.

One Water, One Soil, One Health

This activity will help create a platform to advance research, awareness, and standards-based interventions that recognize the interdependence of water, soil, and health as the foundation of sustainable living and environmental stewardship.

A Technical Reference Architecture Framework for an Open 6G Device Ecosystem

A Reference Architecture that describes what is needed to create an open 6G device. The capabilities of 6G are an enhancement in connectivity that can be described as more than incremental steps from 5G.

User-Centered Principles for Artificial Intelligence Used in Evaluating Family Violence

The goal of this activity is to harness the strengths of AI to better identify and evaluate the risk of family violence.
