P378 - Recommended Practice for Scattering Parameter Measurements and Uncertainty Analysis Using Network Analyzers

Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs) are used to measure reflection and transmission coefficients of multi-port networks at radio, microwave and millimeter-wave frequencies from a few kHz to 110 GHz and beyond. This standard provides a common base for analysis of measurements made on vector network analyzers. A description of terminology is included so that a common language can be used to understand the measurement instruments and parameters, the methods of measurement, and the uncertainty associated with a measurement. Because of the complexities of the measurement parameters, instruments and uncertainties, this standard does not cover all of the possible techniques and analysis methods.
