Recommended Practice on Spectrum Mask Measurement for Broadcast Transmissions

This recommended practice describes methods for measuring the extent of spectrum occupancy by high-power digital broadcast signals. It uses conventional radio frequency (RF) measuring instruments to determine signal power within and adjacent to the spectrum authorized for use by services under test. The methods permit determination of compliance with rules issued by regulatory authorities in flexible ways so that specialized equipment for any particular set of regulations is unnecessary. The document explains the procedures involved in such a way that needed measurements can be made with instruments having different capabilities and limitations through appropriately adjusted calculations.

No Active Standards

These standards have been replaced with a revised version of the standard, or by a compilation of the original active standard and all its existing amendments, corrigenda, and errata.

No Superseded Standards

These standards have been removed from active status through a ballot where the standard is made inactive as a consensus decision of a balloting group.
