Guide for Transformers for Wind Turbine Generator Applications

This document applies to dry-type and liquid-immersed transformers for wind turbine step-up applications having a winding with the highest voltage up to and including 72.5 kV class. This document applies to the transformer used to connect Alternating Current (ac) or inverter-based wind turbine generators to the generating plant power collection system, or adjacent distribution network, and not the transformer used to connect the wind generating plant to a transmission or distribution system.
