PC37.100.5

Standard for Definitions of Reclosers and Other Distribution Equipment above 1000 Vac and High-Voltage Circuit Breakers above 1000 Vac and 3200 Vdc

This standard provides terms, definitions, and explanatory notes for products within the scope of reclosers and other distribution equipment (above 1000 Vac) and high-voltage circuit breakers (above 1000 Vac and 3200 Vdc) that are used primarily in connection with generation, transmission, distribution, and conversion of electric power. The standard addresses distribution switching and overcurrent protective equipment including reclosers, sectionalizers, fault interrupters, capacitor switches, pad-mounted gear, and submersible switchgear. In some instances, this standard defines terms and definitions that are not identical to those developed by other branches of industry. Where this situation exists, the understanding of the specific intent of this standard depends on this standard's definitions.
