802.22-2019
IEEE Standard - Information Technology-Telecommunications and information exchange between systems-Wireless Regional Area Networks-Specific requirements-Part 22: Cognitive Wireless RAN MAC and PHY specifications: Policies and Procedures for Operation in the Bands that Allow Spectrum Sharing where the Communications Devices May Opportunistically Operate in the Spectrum of Primary Service

This standard specifies the air interface, including the cognitive medium access control layer (MAC) and physical layer (PHY), of point-to-multipoint wireless regional area networks (WRANs) comprised of a professional fixed base station (BS) with fixed and portable user terminals operating in the VHF/UHF TV broadcast bands between 54 MHz to 862 MHz, and potentially in the 1300 MHz to 1750 MHz, and 2700 MHz to 3700 MHz bands provided the regulatory regime allows it. ISO/IEC/IEEE International Standard - Information technology -- Telecommunications and information exchange between systems -- Local and metropolitan area networks -- Specific requirements -- Part 22: Cognitive Wireless RAN Medium Access Control (MAC) and Physical Layer (PHY) Specifications: Policies and Procedures for Operation in the TV Bands AMENDMENT 2: Enhancement for broadband services and monitoring applications

Alternate physical layer (PHY) and necessary medium access control layer (MAC) enhancements to IEEE Std 802.22-2011 are specified in this amendment for operation in very high frequency/ultra-high frequency (VHF/UHF) television broadcast bands between 54 MHz and 862 MHz to support enhanced broadband services and monitoring applications. The amendment supports aggregate data rates greater than the maximum data rate supported by the IEEE Std 802.22-2011. This amendment defines new classes of IEEE 802.22™ devices to address these applications and supports more than 512 devices in a network. This amendment also specifies techniques to enhance communications among the devices and makes necessary amendments to the cognitive, security, and parameters and connection management clauses. This amendment supports mechanisms to enable coexistence with other IEEE 802u00ae systems in the same band.

802.22.1-2010
IEEE Standard for Information Technology--Telecommunications and information exchange between systems--Local and metropolitan area networks--Specific requirements Part 22.1: Standard to Enhance Harmful Interference Protection for Low-Power Licensed Devices Operating in TV Broadcast Bands

This standard defines the protocol and data formats for communication devices forming a beaconing network that are used to protect low-power, licensed devices operating in television broadcast bands from harmful interference generated by license-exempt devices, such as Wireless Regional Area Networks (WRAN), intended to operate in the same bands. The devices being protected are devices licensed as secondary under Title 47, Part 74, Subpart H in the USA and equivalent devices in other regulatory domains.
