Superseded. This guide provides a basis for the systematic evaluation of man-machine performance in nuclear power generating station control rooms and other peripheries, as such performance relates to nuclear plant safety. Basic information is supplied as to the available human factors techniques and their applicability to the various human-related issues confronting the commercial nuclear industry today. A brief review is provided of selected, commonly used techniques, along with guidance as to their use and where further related information can be obtained.

1023-2020
IEEE Recommended Practice for the Application of Human Factors Engineering to Systems, Equipment, and Facilities of Nuclear Power Generating Stations and Other Nuclear Facilities
Recommended practices for applying human factors engineering (HFE) to systems and equipment that have significant human interfaces in nuclear power generating stations and other nuclear facilities are provided in this document.
2411-2021
IEEE Guide for Human Factors Engineering for the Validation of System Designs and Integrated Systems Operations at Nuclear Facilities
Guidance to prepare, plan, and conduct human factors performance-based validation of a component, sub-system, or system prior to its placement in-service, to assess reasonable confidence of compliance with functional and operational requirements is provided in this document. (An errata is available at https://standards.ieee.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/2411-2021_errata.pdf)
845-2023
IEEE Guide for the Evaluation of Human-System Performance in Nuclear Power Generating Stations and Other Nuclear Facilities
Guidance for evaluating human-system performance related to systems, equipment, and facilities in nuclear power generating stations is provided. Specific evaluation techniques and rationale for their application within the integrated systems approach to plant design, operations, and maintenance described in IEEE Std 1023™ are summarized.
These standards have been replaced with a revised version of the standard, or by a compilation of the original active standard and all its existing amendments, corrigenda, and errata.

IEEE Recommended Practice for the Application of Human Factors Engineering to Systems, Equipment, and Facilities of Nuclear Power Generating Stations and Other Nuclear Facilities
This document provides recommended practices for applying human factors engineering (HFE) to systems and equipment that have significant human interfaces in nuclear power generating stations and other nuclear facilities.
These standards have been removed from active status through a ballot where the standard is made inactive as a consensus decision of a balloting group.
No Inactive-Withdrawn Standards
These standards are removed from active status through an administrative process for standards that have not undergone a revision process within 10 years.
