This recommended practice specifies Digital Humanism principles based on the research output of the European Digital Humanism Initiative (EUDHIT). These principles address, among other things, human well-being, societal benefit, inclusion and accessibility, privacy and confidentiality, transparency and intelligibility, human agency and accountability, fairness, safety and security, environmental sustainability, and dignity in digital work. This recommended practice then specifies organizational practices for applying these Digital Humanism principles in the governance, procurement, life cycle development, deployment and use of digital systems and digital services, including artificial intelligence (AI) and other algorithmic or automated decision and decision-support systems. The recommended practice includes example indicators and measurement considerations that organisations may use to support monitoring, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
