IEEE 473-1985

IEEE Recommended Practice for an Electromagnetic Site Survey (10 kHz to 10 GHz)

Guidelines for the systematic, documented investigation of the amplitudes of RF electromagnetic fields found at one or more locations with respect to frequency, time, and position are provided. Periodic and random radiated electric and magnetic fields and conducted interference within the frequency range of 10 kHz to 10 GHz are considered. Although several aspects of radio-emission investigation are not addressed directly, including signal identification and discrimination; field emissions from regularly occurring, low-frequency, pulsed sources; and test enclosure fields, much information pertinent to these areas is provided.

P473
IEEE Draft Recommended Practice for an Electromagnetic Site Survey (10 kHz to 40 GHz)

This Recommended Practice provides information and guidance for characterizing radiated levels of electromagnetic (EM) noise or interference that may be present in various environments between 10 kHz and 40 GHz. It provides methods that may be used to plan for and execute the electromagnetic environment characterization of a particular environment or location. Characterizing the electromagnetic environment is traditionally referred to as a site survey. A site survey can be applicable to congested metropolitan environments, industrial settings, commercial buildings, open fields, remote geographical locations, in and around ships, aircraft, and vehicles, etc.

No Active Standards

These standards have been replaced with a revised version of the standard, or by a compilation of the original active standard and all its existing amendments, corrigenda, and errata.

No Superseded Standards

These standards have been removed from active status through a ballot where the standard is made inactive as a consensus decision of a balloting group.

No Inactive-Withdrawn Standards

These standards are removed from active status through an administrative process for standards that have not undergone a revision process within 10 years.
