This guide provides an integrated methodology for assessing the safety risks of Level 4 (L4) automated driving systems (ADS) during dynamic operation. It provides an overall assessment framework, core indicators, quantitative calculation models, multi-factor coupling analysis methods, and dynamic risk-grading rules. Together with technical provisions for assessment tools, data quality, traceability, and reporting, this guide provides methods for risk identification, simulation assessment, closed proving ground testing, public road assessment, evidence fusion, and acceptance evaluation. Time to Collision (TTC) and Minimum Risk Condition (MRC) performance are used as core assessment elements. The assessment covers technical risk factors of L4 ADS, together with risks associated with traffic participants, natural and road environments, operational management, communication dependencies, and remote assistance, where applicable. This guide applies primarily to L4 ADS installed on road vehicles operating within a defined operational design domain (ODD). Standalone environmental risk-factor classification and the architecture of post-deployment monitoring systems are outside the scope of this guide, although environmental observations and post-deployment evidence may be used as assessment inputs.

Other Activities From This Working Group
Current projects that have been authorized by the IEEE SA Standards Board to develop a standard.
No Active Projects
Standards approved by the IEEE SA Standards Board that are within the 10-year lifecycle.
No Active Standards
These standards have been replaced with a revised version of the standard, or by a compilation of the original active standard and all its existing amendments, corrigenda, and errata.
No Superseded Standards
These standards have been removed from active status through a ballot where the standard is made inactive as a consensus decision of a balloting group.
No Inactive-Withdrawn Standards
These standards are removed from active status through an administrative process for standards that have not undergone a revision process within 10 years.
No Inactive-Reserved Standards
