This document defines recommended measurement, simulation, and reporting practices for wearable, textile integrated, and on body antennas operating in close proximity to the human body. This recommended practice provides guidance for evaluating antenna performance and long term durability under realistic usage conditions, including bending, stretching, placement, air gap variation, body model, body motion, inter-individual variability, and environmental exposure. The recommended practice covers static and dynamic test scenarios, use of physical and numerical phantoms, safety related metrics such as Specific Absorption Rate (SAR), Absorbed Power Density (APD), temperature rise, and simulation assumptions that are aligned with measurement practices. It establishes baseline reference test cases, minimum reporting requirements, and classification of test conditions to improve repeatability, transparency, and comparability across studies and products. This recommended practice does not define antenna designs or prescribe regulatory compliance limits, nor does it replace existing SAR or exposure standards; rather, it complements them by addressing wearable specific challenges not consistently covered by existing documents.

Other Activities From This Working Group
Current projects that have been authorized by the IEEE SA Standards Board to develop a standard.
No Active Projects
Standards approved by the IEEE SA Standards Board that are within the 10-year lifecycle.
No Active Standards
These standards have been replaced with a revised version of the standard, or by a compilation of the original active standard and all its existing amendments, corrigenda, and errata.
No Superseded Standards
These standards have been removed from active status through a ballot where the standard is made inactive as a consensus decision of a balloting group.
No Inactive-Withdrawn Standards
These standards are removed from active status through an administrative process for standards that have not undergone a revision process within 10 years.
No Inactive-Reserved Standards
