Standard for the Design, Development, and Enterprise Implementation of Immersive Technology in Healthcare

This standard provides criteria and requirements for selecting, configuring, and developing immersive technology, including augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR), and virtual reality (VR), for implementation in healthcare settings and running on devices such as head-mounted displays (HMDs), smart glasses, and other mobile or wearable platforms. The standard covers four primary areas: immersive applications, platform and device specifications, enterprise information technology (IT) infrastructure integration, and business compliance guidelines. It addresses product design requirements across two primary phases: piloting or evaluating a minimal viable product (MVP), and enterprise-wide scaling after the demonstration of a positive evaluation. The use cases covered span care delivery in healthcare facilities and via telehealth; and training and education for healthcare professionals and patients.
