Standard for Weather Early Warning for Low-Altitude (less than or equal to 1000 m Above Ground) Drone and Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) Flight Safety

This standard specifies indicators, thresholds, and procedures for issuing weather-related early warnings to support the safe operation of low-altitude (less than or equal to 1000 m Above Ground) flights, particularly Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) and Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) operations. Indicators may include wind shear, visibility, precipitation intensity, turbulence, and convective storm proximity. Thresholds are defined in terms of quantitative meteorological parameters (e.g., wind speed more than 15 m/s, visibility less than 1 km). Procedures cover warning levels, dissemination methods, and coordination between meteorological service providers and flight operators.

No Active Projects

Standards approved by the IEEE SA Standards Board that are within the 10-year lifecycle.

No Active Standards

These standards have been replaced with a revised version of the standard, or by a compilation of the original active standard and all its existing amendments, corrigenda, and errata.

No Superseded Standards

These standards have been removed from active status through a ballot where the standard is made inactive as a consensus decision of a balloting group.
