This standard specifies a basic framework for digital product passport (DPP) which is a structured collection of product related, machine-readable data describing scope, data management scheme and access rights. DPP is conveyed through a unique product identifier accessible via electronic means through a data carrier. The standard provides the technical requirements for the indicator system, technical benchmarks, and management requirements.
