This standard defines a cross-sector methodology for the assessment and certification of Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs). It specifies the processes, criteria, and documentation required to verify and certify the TRL of a system, product, or technology. The standard applies to a wide range of domains, among which are aerospace, robotics, energy, healthcare, and information and communication technologies. It does not redefine TRL levels themselves, but builds on existing definitions (e.g., ISO 16290:2013) to establish a structured certification framework.
