IEEE Draft Guide for Operational Life Cycle Assessment of Fiber-Reinforced Composite Electric Power Equipment

This guide introduces basic technical characteristics, operation life cycle assessment methods, and scrap disposal methods for fiber-reinforced composite electric power equipment. It applies to overhead line equipment made of fiber-reinforced composite materials, such as poles, frames, tools, and conductors. The guide provides two assessment approaches: accelerated aging evaluation for rapid life prediction and electromechanical combined simulation condition assessment for near real-scenario evaluation. It also covers environmentally compliant disposal procedures for retired equipment. The methods support product development, in-service condition monitoring, remaining life estimation, and end-of-life management to enhance safety, reliability, and sustainability of FRP-based power infrastructure.
