This document helps to mitigate safety risks during the shipment of energy storage containers. The document provides recommendations for the design, selection of main equipment, system integration and installation, transportation, loading and unloading, storage within these containers. The document applies to electrochemical energy storage containers that incorporate lithium-ion batteries, sodium-ion batteries, and lead-acid batteries. Recommendations for energy storage containers based on other technologies are provided for informational purposes only.
