This standard specifies the general technical requirements for a test site with its own background noise playback system used in the performance test of speech recognition and interaction system for smart home. This standard specifies the requirements for test sites that simulate the acoustic environment of buildings. The performance and characteristics of speech recognition and interaction for smart home appliances and similar use can be tested in these test sites. This standard does not apply to the test sites that simulate the non-building acoustic environment such as in-vehicle environment and open-field environment.

Other Activities From This Working Group
Current projects that have been authorized by the IEEE SA Standards Board to develop a standard.
P2899.2
Standard for Speech Recognition and Interaction System for Smart Home – Safety Requirements for Speech Control
This standard applies to speech control used in household and similar electrical appliances. In addition to terminology, classification, and technical characteristics, the standard specifies functional safety and information security requirements of speech control. Testing methods are also specified.
P2899.3
Standard for Speech Recognition and Interaction System for Smart Home – Collection Requirements of Corpus and Noise for Laboratory-Level Testing
This standard defines collection (recording) requirements of corpus and noise used for smart home speech recognition and interactive performance evaluation. The standard specifies the terminology of corpus and noise collection, technical indicators of collection equipment, and the requirements for laboratory-level corpus and noise collection methods and file format.
Standards approved by the IEEE SA Standards Board that are within the 10-year lifecycle.
No Active Standards
These standards have been replaced with a revised version of the standard, or by a compilation of the original active standard and all its existing amendments, corrigenda, and errata.
No Superseded Standards
These standards have been removed from active status through a ballot where the standard is made inactive as a consensus decision of a balloting group.
No Inactive-Withdrawn Standards
These standards are removed from active status through an administrative process for standards that have not undergone a revision process within 10 years.
