Standard for Design Criteria of Complex Virtual Instruments for Smart Agricultural Monitoring and Management

This standard defines a framework for building agricultural monitoring and management systems based on complex virtual instruments (CVIs) that are used for processing and displaying sensor data from intelligent sensors and the related metadata. This framework specifies requirements for the following CVI-based development processes: -CVI structure design covers management of sensor data and metadata, a virtual instrument engine based on the description of agricultural production environment and monitoring information, data formats of monitoring data, and representational state transfer (REST) service interfaces for CVI interactions; -CVI mapping schemes describe the correspondence from monitoring units to CVIs; and -CVI relations define the relationships between CVIs and describe the methods of extending and compositing multiple CVIs.
