This standard is based on the principles of age-appropriate design defined in IEEE Std 2089. It specifies a full lifecycle process for the design, development, and deployment of Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems that may affect children. It takes the Children & AI Code as a foundation by which to do this. The standard addresses actions to take across preparation, intention, data, development, deployment, monitoring, transparency, user reporting and redress, and decommissioning. It does not make assumptions about the specific type of AI or the context of the organization deploying the standard.
