This guide establishes typical dimensions for connections of a gas insulated substation (GIS) to extruded, self contained fluid-filled, and high pressure fluid-filled (HPFF) pipe type cables in single and three phase arrangements for voltages 72.5 kV and above. The guide applies to both fluid filled and dry type cable terminations with insulating barrier separating SF6 gas in GIS housing from the termination fluid. It also determines the arrangement for dielectric tests of the termination with simulated GIS enclosure. Responsibilities in grounding connections, installation, and field tests are also defined.

Current projects that have been authorized by the IEEE SA Standards Board to develop a standard.
No Active Projects
Standards approved by the IEEE SA Standards Board that are within the 10-year lifecycle.
No Active Standards
These standards have been replaced with a revised version of the standard, or by a compilation of the original active standard and all its existing amendments, corrigenda, and errata.
No Superseded Standards
These standards have been removed from active status through a ballot where the standard is made inactive as a consensus decision of a balloting group.
No Inactive-Withdrawn Standards
These standards are removed from active status through an administrative process for standards that have not undergone a revision process within 10 years.

IEEE Guide for Cable Connections for Gas-Insulated Substations
This guide establishes typical dimensions for connections of a gas-insulated substation (GIS) to extruded, self contained fluid-filled, and high pressure fluid-filled (pipe-type) cables in single and three phase arrangements for voltages 72.5 kV to 550 kV.
