Changes and additions to IEEE standard 802.3, 1998 edition, to support virtual bridged local area networks (VLANs) as specified in IEEE P802.1Q. draft standard for local and metropolitan area networks: virtual bridged local area networks, are provided. Incorporating IEEE Std 802.3, 1998 Edition, IEEE Std 802.3ac-1998, IEEE Std 802.3ab-1999, and IEEE Std 802.3ad-2000.
