The standard provides a framework for the characterization and specification of a suite of desirable and beneficial ethical properties and criteria of Autonomous Intelligent Systems (AIS) throughout their life-cycle, as well as negative properties to avoid. The framework covers specific ethical properties of interest such as transparency, accountability, privacy, bias and responsible governance.
