This recommended practice describes the interface between the driver and the onboard train control system, covering general requirements, basic display elements, and interface area arrangements. This recommended practice applies to train control systems that employ the Driver-Machine Interface (DMI) for operational control interactions and provides guidance for the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of onboard DMI equipment in new, modified, or existing systems.
