IEEE 1914.1-2019

IEEE Standard for Packet-based Fronthaul Transport Networks

The architecture and requirements for next generation fronthaul networks are specified in this standard. NGFI-I is defined as the next generation fronthaul network with low layer splits in a baseband station. NGFI-II is defined as the next generation fronthaul network with high layer splits in a baseband station. The requirements of fronthaul transport nodes in these networks are also specified.

1914.3-2023

IEEE Approved Draft Standard for Radio over Ethernet Encapsulations and Mappings

This standard defines the encapsulation and mapping of radio protocols transported over Ethernet frames and Internet Protocol (IP) packets and the operation of mappers and de-mappers. Structure-agnostic definitions are provided for any digitized radio data. Structure-aware definitions are provided for the Common Public Radio Interface (CPRI). Native mode definitions are provided for normal and compressed digitized radio in-phase and quadrature (I/Q) payload. Specifications are provided for parameters, control messages, and mechanisms that are used to operate, administrate, and maintain mappers and de-mappers. A management model and a YANG data model are defined.

1914.3-2018

IEEE Standard for Radio over Ethernet Encapsulations and Mappings

The encapsulation and mapping of radio protocols for transport over Ethernet frames, using radio over Ethernet (RoE), are defined in this standard. Structure-agnostic definitions are provided for any digitized radio data. Structure-aware definitions are provided for the Common Public Radio Interface (CPRI(TM)). Native mode definitions are provided for digitized radio in-phase and quadrature (I/Q) payload.
