Specific Absorption Rate Measurement Systems

About the Activity

The goal of the activity is to collaborate with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) Technical Committee (TC) 106 on recommendations for a Publicly Available Specification (PAS) for the validation of Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) measurement systems. IEC TC106 and IEEE International Committee on Electromagnetic Safety (ICES) Technical Committee (TC) 34 have several jointly developed standards, including IEEE/IEC 62209-1528, and IEC/IEEE 63195-1. The two Technical Committees have decided to restructure the 62209 SAR standards series, and include a new specification as described above.

Goals of the Activity

The output will be a joint Publicly Available Specification (PAS) between IEEE and IEC. The output will have normative and informative clauses.
