Standard for Technical Requirements of Artificial Intelligence Personal Computer

This standard defines technical requirements for Artificial Intelligence Personal Computers (AIPCs). It includes a reference architecture, hardware, software, application interfaces, and security requirements. This standard is intended to provide guidance for the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of AIPCs. The AIPC is designed to support a broad range of AI tasks, including: - Inference Operations: Functions to perform inference with pre-trained models locally, such as image recognition, speech-to-text, and natural language processing. - Lightweight Machine Learning Model Training: Functions to handle the training needs of relatively simple machine learning models, involving small datasets that do not require extensive computational resources. - Edge Computing: Support for data analysis and decision-making at the device level, reducing dependency on cloud services, improving response times, and enhancing privacy. - AI Application Integration: Compatibility with existing and future AI applications, allowing users to easily install and use a variety of AI-driven applications and services." The design goals of an AIPC are to provide a platform that can meet everyday computing needs while effectively supporting AI applications. This design takes into account current technological trends and looks towards future developments, aiming for a balance between performance, efficiency, and user experience.

Other Activities From This Working Group

Current projects that have been authorized by the IEEE SA Standards Board to develop a standard.

No Active Projects

Standards approved by the IEEE SA Standards Board that are within the 10-year lifecycle.

No Active Standards

These standards have been replaced with a revised version of the standard, or by a compilation of the original active standard and all its existing amendments, corrigenda, and errata.

No Superseded Standards

These standards have been removed from active status through a ballot where the standard is made inactive as a consensus decision of a balloting group.

No Inactive-Withdrawn Standards

These standards are removed from active status through an administrative process for standards that have not undergone a revision process within 10 years.
