This standard specifies a language-agnostic protocol and corresponding interfaces for biometric devices to support features such as discovery of devices, capabilities exposure of the device and capture of biometrics using the device for all instant capture modalities. This protocol also specifically addresses the trustworthiness of both the device and the captured data in addition to data security.
