This standard specifies the requirements for development, operations, management, and governance for system reliability engineering (SRE) during the entire DevOps process for software systems. This standard enables key stakeholders to identify issues and events that could potentially impact end users by proactively automating tasks often performed by the operations teams to help ensure that systems are reliable and continuously meeting end user expectations. The activities and functions to enable SRE are integrated to provide a comprehensive and holistic view of a systems of systems lifecycle.

Standard for Systems Observability across DevOps
This standard specifies the requirements for development, operations, management, and governance for observability during the entire DevOps process for software systems. It enables key stakeholders to conduct interrogation, inquiry, diagnosis, and improvement of systems. The activities and functions to enable observability are integrated to provide a comprehensive and holistic view of a systems of systems lifecycle.
Standards approved by the IEEE SA Standards Board that are within the 10-year lifecycle.

IEEE Standard for DevOps:Building Reliable and Secure Systems Including Application Build, Package, and Deployment
Technical principles and processes to build, package, and deploy systems and applications in a reliable and secure way are specified. Establishing effective compliance and information technology (IT) controls is the focus. DevOps principles presented include mission first, customer focus, left-shift, continuous everything, and systems thinking. How stakeholders, including developers and operations staff, can collaborate and communicate effectively is described. The process outcomes and activities herein are aligned with the process model specified in ISO/IEC/IEEE 12207:2017 and ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288:2015.
