The language, also informally known as VHDL-AMS, is built on IEEE Std 1076-2008 (VHDL) and extends it with additions and changes to provide capabilities of writing and simulating analog and mixed-signal models. IEEE Standard for VHDL Analog and Mixed-Signal Extensions -- Packages for Multiple Energy Domain Support
Superseded by 1076.1-2017. This standard defines a collection of VHDL 1076.1 packages, compatible with IEEE Std 1076.1, along with recommendations for conforming use, in order to facilitate the interchange of simulation models of physical components and subsystems. The packages include the definition of standard types, subtypes, natures, and constants for modeling in multiple energy domains (electrical, fluidic, mechanical, etc.).
These standards have been removed from active status through a ballot where the standard is made inactive as a consensus decision of a balloting group.
