Call for Abstracts

2026 IEEE SA Ethernet & IP @ Automotive Technology Day

14-15 October, 2026 Gothenburg, Sweden

2026 Theme: Safety First. Ethernet Anywhere?

The 2026 event will offer special opportunities for participants to reflect on the current status of Automotive Ethernet and discuss the path beyond.

The Program Committee is now calling experts from leading organizations to propose abstracts for this year’s program. Preference will be given to presentations that are different from those seen at other events. Presentations must provide insights into developments, trends, or solutions with respect to one or more of the following topics:

  • Safety, security, and reliability of Ethernet communications
  • Markets and strategies
  • In Vehicle Network use cases beyond Automotive (Aeronautics, Aerospace, Agriculture, Marine, etc.)
  • Interrelations with other in-vehicle networking technologies
  • Interrelations with other levels of the ISO OSI layer model
  • Future networking requirements beyond Zonal Architectures
  • Ethernet challenges beyond ADAS and Autonomous Driving
  • Challenges with replacing legacy automotive networks with Ethernet
  • Ethernet network design and specification
  • Tools and test methods

Examples of problems include but are not limited to the following:

  • Mix of data rates in one network
  • Emerging opportunities for Ethernet
  • Role of Ethernet in software defined vehicles
  • Scalable networking platform for low content to high content vehicles
  • Impact of 48V Architecture on in-vehicle networks
  • System-wide trade-offs in hardware and software for traffic management
  • Issues associated with sharing high-bandwidth sensor data (e.g., cameras) in real-time between ECUs
  • How can Ethernet, TSN, and higher layers support zonal and service-oriented (SOA) architectures?
  • How can the configuration of networks be made more flexible, automated, and dynamic?
  • Ethernet channel signal integrity requirements and verification
  • Electromagnetic Compatibility: Cable assessment to compliance testing

Presentation Quotas:

  • Companies are limited to two presentations in the program (more than two abstracts may be submitted)
  • Presenters are limited to two presentations in the program (more than two abstracts may be submitted)
  • Authors presenting for an organization represent that organization and do not count toward the quota of their employer

Author Affiliations:

  • Authors employed by a company cannot submit an abstract as unaffiliated
  • Company quotas are based on the abstract authors and their affiliations at the submission deadline and will not change
    • Regardless of an author’s affiliation after the deadline.
    • If an author withdraws (or is withdrawn) from a presentation, that presentation will retain the affiliation of the employer for the purposes of quotas
  • Authors must obtain permission to use intellectual property

Guidelines for Abstract Submission

  1. Write a descriptive title for your presentation.
  2. Write the name, organization, and email address of the authors in the order that the authors should be listed in the program.
  3. Choose only one main topic.
  4. Write the abstract.
  5. Submit the completed form by 3 April 2026.
  6. View Presentation Guidelines (PDF)
