IEEE 400™ Standards Set – Shielded Power Cable Systems on CD-ROM
The IEEE 400™ Standards Set provides the related 400 series standards for shielded power cable systems and includes. This set includes the following standards: IEEE 400™-2012, IEEE 400.1™-2007, IEEE 400.2™-2004, and IEEE 400.3™-2006.
IEEE Wireless Access in Vehicular Environments (WAVE) - IEEE 1609™ Series PDF Bundle
IEEE 1609™ Series covers wireless access in vehicular environments (WAVE) dedicated short-range communications (DSRC) application, known as the WAVE resource manager (RM), methods for securing WAVE management messages and application messages, with the exception of vehicle-originating safety messages. It also describes administrative functions necessary to support the core security functions.
IEEE Instrument Transformers -
IEEE C57.13™ Series PDF Bundle
Electrical, dimensional, and mechanical characteristics are covered, taking into consideration certain safety features, for current and inductively coupled voltage transformers of types generally used in the measurement of electricity and the control of equipment associated with the generation, transmission, and distribution of alternating current.
NESC® Revisions to Commence
The National Electrical Safety Code® (NESC®) revision cycle to prepare the 2017 Edition begins in 2013. Anyone having a material interest in the NESC can submit a change proposal beginning 1 February 2013 until 15 July 2013.
IEEE Standards Education e-Zine is now available
The First Quarter 2013 issue of the IEEE Standards Education e-Zine is now available. This issue focuses on the IEC-IEEE Challenge 2012 Winners and the topic, How Electrotechnology Impacts Economic, Social, and Environmental Development.
The IEEE 802.3 Ethernet standard has transformed the way we work and play. Ethernet has made possible the networking of, among other things, PCs, smartphones, and tablets, as well as optical receivers and live and streaming video. The IEEE Standards Association recently updated the 802.3 standard to incorporate technical enhancements and consolidate a host of amendments.
Tech News Focuses on Life Sciences

IEEE Transformers Committee Meeting to Address Standards Development to be Held 17-21 March 2013
Many standards and standards projects related to power and energy are sponsored by IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES). The Transformers Committee - one of the largest committees of the IEEE PES - will be hold it's Spring 2013 Meeting in Munich, Germany from 17-21 March 2013, to develop and update standards and guidelines for the design, testing, repair, installation, operation, and maintenance of transformers, reactors, and associated components that are used within the electric utility and industrial power systems. A technical tour of Reinhausen Manufacturing Inc. will also be held. This tour is open to all meeting participants.
Anyone interested in learning more about transformers or the standards development process, is welcome to attend this meeting.
