P1289

Guide for the Application of Human Factors Engineering in the Design of Computer-Based Monitoring and Control Displays for Nuclear Power Generating Stations and other Nuclear Facilities

This guide provides system design considerations, identifies information display and control techniques for use with computer-based displays, and provides human factors engineering guidance for the use of these techniques in nuclear power generating stations and other nuclear facilities.

P1786

Recommended Practice for Human Factors Applications of Computerized Operating Procedure Systems at Nuclear Power Generating Stations and Other Nuclear Facilities

This document provides recommendations for the application of computerized operating procedure systems (COPS). These recommendations concern the design (i.e., form and function) and use of COPS. In general, this recommended practice does not provide recommendations for the technical content of the operating procedures being presented except as needed to address unique aspects of procedure implementation on COPS. Considerations for step-by-step instructions to be used at local control stations, or on mobile devices, such as field operating procedures, as well as procedures for maintenance and testing, are provided in an informative annex.

P2421

Guide for Designing and Developing Computer-Based Displays for Monitoring and Control of Nuclear Facilities

This document provides design process guidance for developing computer-based graphical user interface (GUI) displays, including their form and function. This guidance applies to GUI display systems provided with new nuclear power generating stations and other nuclear facilities, or as digital upgrades to existing facilities, including monitoring and controls systems. The scope ranges from small modular panel inserts limited to single systems through multiple workstations intended to monitor and/or control the entire nuclear facility. The guidance applies for displays used within or outside of the main control room (MCR). This guidance does not cover the technical details found in IEEE Std 1289.
