The IEEE SA participated in the first IEEE EnergyCon in 2010 in Bahrain, and was pleased to continue its engagement with the conference, which brought together attendees from across the globe. The special session on standards attracted forty attendees and was the final session of the industry track at this year’s EnergyCon.

The IEEE SA session introduced the organization and its global relevancy, and highlighted its vast Smart Grid activities. The panelists focused on the SA’s standards development in the Smart Grid space, its global collaborative activities, as well as related networking and communications efforts.

The panelists and presentations were:

  • Chuck Adams, Huawei Technologies, Distinguished Standards Strategist; IEEE SA Past President who presented IEEE SA Aligning Opportunities with Global Standards;
  • Bill Ash, IEEE SA Strategic Program Manager who presented IEEE SA Standards-Related Activities for Smart Grid; and
