Submitting a Manuscript for publication consideration through
IEEE Standards Information Network
The IEEE Standards Information Network is a publishing
operation within the IEEE Standards Department. We
publish books and other products that are directly
relevant to standards, thereby assisting users in
the implementation and understanding of standards.
Some examples are handbooks, tutorials, and sourcebooks.
The process for submitting a proposal for the IEEE
Standards Information Network begins with filling
out our project Proposal
Form.
In order for us to evaluate the marketability of
your proposed book, you must provide information about
the nature and purpose of your topic. It is also very
helpful to submit a sample table of contents and outline
at this time. Assume that we know nothing about your
topic. Your responses form a critical part of the
criteria for possible publication. The information
you provide will also be sent to reviewers in related
fields of interest for their evaluation of its marketability
and enhancement of IEEE Standards and standards-related
material.
The completed proposal should be sent to Jennifer
McClain at j.mcclain@ieee.org.
When your proposal is received, it will be carefully
reviewed and feedback will be provided to you within
two weeks.
Once a decision has been made to go ahead with your
project, a contract will be drawn up and you may begin
writing your book. When you have completed your first
draft, the peer review process can begin.
