Al Petrick is Vice President of Business Development
at IceFyre Semiconductor, Inc., in Ontario, Canada.
He is responsible for IceFyre's wireless strategic
partnerships, technology acquisitions, business development,
and industry standards initiatives.
Mr. Petrick has over 20 years of wireless communications
and semiconductor technology experience and has held
positions in marketing, business development, and
systems engineering. He currently serves as Vice Chairman
of the IEEE 802.11 Wireless Local Area Network standards
committee, with liaison status to other international
standards organizations.
Prior to joining IceFyre, he was Vice President of
Strategic Alliances at Direct2Data Technologies and
held senior executive management positions at Intersil
Corporation, a leading provider of silicon technology
for Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs). While at
Intersil, he was responsible for strategic marketing
and business development, and spearheaded the development
of the PRISM WLAN product line and pioneered the technology
through volume production.
He is a distinguished writer in the wireless industry
and has written columns for a number of wireless journals,
Wall Street financial and industry market analysts.
He has also authored and co-authored several patents
on the PRISM WLAN technology.
Mr. Petrick holds a BSEE from Rochester Institute
of Technology, Rochester, NY, an MBA from Rollins
College, Winter Park, FL, and studied business strategies
at Northwestern University, Evanston, IL.
