Canada Standards Committee.
7.0 NATIONAL COMMITTEES
National Committees with specific mandates may be established to facilitate
IEEE activities within Canada. The Board shall approve the charters of all
national committees. The charter for each national committee shall specify the
processes by which its Chair and membership are selected. Appointees to national
committees shall serve during the calendar year of the appointment. These
appointments may be renewed for up to two additional one-year terms but no
appointment shall exceed three consecutive years, unless otherwise specified in
the national committee charter.
All members of national committees shall be IEEE Member, Senior Member or
Fellow grade. At the discretion of the President, Student members appointed to
other standing committees may be granted voting privileges.
The Board shall review all national committees at intervals of no more than
three years to ensure that their respective scopes and compositions continue to
serve the best interests of the Board and its membership.
7.1 IEEE CANADA STANDARDS COMMITTEE
There shall be an IEEE Canada Standards Committee that will implement the IEEE Standards Association's
globalization initiative in Canada, promote IEEE-SA activities and opportunities
with Canadian and international standards organizations, and serve as a source
of information on the IEEE Standards Association.
All members of the Standards Committee must be members of the IEEE Standards
Association. The President will appoint the Standards Committee Chair. The
Committee shall consist of the Chair, not less than three but not more than
seven other members appointed by the Chair, and the President (ex-officio).
The Committee shall operate under its own Charter ,
which must conform with IEEE and IEEE Canada Bylaws.
