WRITE THE DRAFT
Writing the Draft

1) Read the Editorial FAQs, IEEE Dictionary FAQs and SCC10 FAQs first to gain an understanding of these processes.

2) Draft preparation tools:
-- FrameMaker MIF Templates - Frontmatter and Body
-- FrameMaker Templates (Version 7) - Frontmatter and Body
-- MS Word Template (PC only)

3) Draft preparation information:
- IEEE Standards Style Manual - presents a strict order for the first three clauses of your standard.
- Version Control of Drafts
- Graphics in your document
- Normative and Informative Annexes
- References and Bibliography
-
Copyrights, Permissions, Patents, and Trademarks

4) Writing a Revision, Amendment, or Corrigendum

5) Mandatory Editorial Coordination is required prior to the start of an IEEE-SA Sponsor Ballot in order to ensure conformance with IEEE requirements. In addition, all copyright permission letters shall be submitted at this time. This review of your draft and permission letters can reduce the number of recirculations and will help to avoid delays in approval or possible rejection at RevCom.

6) Sponsor Balloting
