  1. Complete and submit the Logical Link Control application via fax or mail along with an attached explanatory statement detailing the intended use of the Logical Link Control assignment.

  2. If there are any questions regarding your application, they will be sent via email to the REQUESTOR.

  3. Applications are reviewed within 150 days and additional clarification may be required by our review committee.

  4. Once the application has been approved, it will be processed within 7 business days. Assignment details are sent via email to the REQUESTOR.

Please note that applications expire after 30 days.

The IEEE does not honor requests for applicant specified identifiers.

The terms in italics, namely; address type designation bit, command/response identifier bit and actual address are defined in ISO/IEC 8802-2. See ISO/IEC 8802-2 clause 3.3.1.1 items (2), (3), and (4). The format of LLC addresses is defined in ISO/IEC 8802-2. For more information refer to Annex A in the 11802-1 technical report. An individual actual address values does not necessarily have any relationship with group address of the same actual address.
