Walter Pienciak <w.pienciak@ieee.org> is Manager, Electronic Information,
for the IEEE Standards Association, with both management and lead technical
responsibilities.

Mr. Pienciak managed the technical aspects of the IEEE-SA's migration
into SGML- and then XML-based electronic production of IEEE standards.
His group developed and maintains the IEEE-SA electronic product-delivery
mechanisms, which support both subscription and single-sales models.
Some of the tools developed to support these processes were released and
are in use by XML and web developers worldwide.

He is the lead developer of the IEEE-SA electronic balloting system.
This system is web- and XML-based, allowing realtime
reporting and secure administration 24x7 from remote locations.

He has managed all aspects of web services for the IEEE-SA since 1995.
He also manages and develops coordinated search services for almost 200 IEEE
websites around the world.  He is responsible for security administration
of IEEE-SA Internet services and oversees the development and maintenance
of IEEE-SA software, systems, and network resources.

Mr. Pienciak lives in Boulder, Colorado, with his wife and three
daughters, and has been a full-time telecommuter for three years.
