IEEE STANDARDS ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT TO SPEAK ON OPENSTAND' PRINCIPLES AT CITEL IN EL SALVADOR

PISCATAWAY, N.J., USA, 29 August 2012 - IEEE, the world's largest professional organization advancing technology for humanity, today announced that Steve Mills, president of the IEEE Standards Association (IEEE-SA), will participate in a panel discussion at CITEL's Seminar on Internet Standards Framework in San Salvador, El Salvador, on 10 September 2012. He will present on the "OpenStand" modern paradigm for global, open standards and discuss the market dynamics that have driven change in the international standards landscape.
IEEE, Internet Architecture Board (IAB), Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), Internet Society and World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) announced in a separate press release today that they have signed a statement affirming the importance of the jointly developed set of OpenStand principles, which are available at the OpenStand Web site.
