The IEEE-SA MOU program was established to promote international standards activities and foster cooperation with standards organizations around the world. This program complements the strong cooperative relationships IEEE-SA has with ISO, IEC, and ITU by strengthening relationships with national and regional organizations.

The MOU program provides a flexible framework for cooperation for mutual benefit, and understands that increased communication will help to avoid duplication of work efforts and promote shared knowledge of standards-related activities. MOUs can be customized as needed, and options include the following:

• facilitate participation of technical experts in IEEE-SA activities,
• formalize cooperation between technical committees,
• collaborate on workshops or seminars,
• provide IEEE-SA standards for national adoption, or other activities.
