Description: The objective of qualification is to demonstrate that the batteries and racks, as installed, will perform their required Class 1E function throughout their qualified life. Qualification may be accomplished by type testing, operating experience, or analysis, and any of these may be used individually or in combination. This standard provides the detailed procedures for type testing Class 1E lead storage batteries for nuclear power generating stations.
