What is the source file for IEEE Standards Online?

Can I download the Online standards into my computer?

Can I print the standards?

What kind of search features are there?

My pages are being cut off when print.

Why are the Online files in Portable Display Format (PDF) versus Hypertext Markup Language (HTML)?

The first set of documents has been made available in PDF because that was simplest way to present the information. We are exploring different display formats and the benefits and problems involved. With HTML, for example, there are formatting/display problems with math that need to be addressed systematically over a wide range of documents.

What is the source file for IEEE Standards Online search utility?

The source file for the search utility is the underlying SGML data, which allows users to conduct searches across the body of data in the set. Searches can be made with titles, keywords, designations and subjects. The standards are displayed in PDF, which allows text searches within the document. The PDF file can be printed, and will appear as close to the paper format as possible.

Can I download the Online standards into my computer?

As long as the use is noncommercial, personal (for single or multi-user licenses), or internal to the organization a subscriber can download the files.

Can I print the standards?

As long as the use is noncommercial, personal (for single or multi-user licenses), or internal to the organization one can print a page, or a range of pages, or the entire file for personal use only.

What kind of search features are there?

There are two types of searches offered by IEEE Standards Online. General search open to all web visitors, and a Subscriber search open only to subscribers

The General search is a full-text search of the PDFs in IEEE Standards Online subscriptions.

The Subscriber search is a search of the underlying SGML data using titles, authors, subjects, keywords, tables and figures. This search is only open to subscribers.

What should I do if images does not appear?

If images appear as gray boxes, the Display Large Images option might be deselected. Chose File>Preferences> General to select this option.

If images do not appear at all, they could be down-sampled monochrome images.

My pages are being cut off when print.

If pages appear cut off or cropped, you should check the page size setting and adjust if necessary.

Who should I contact if I forget my User name and Password?
