What is an IEEE Mobile publication?
A mobile publication is an electronic standard that has been converted to mobile device format (MDF) for viewing on mobile devices such as a BlackBerry, iPhone, Smart Phone, or Pocket PC.(Back to top)

What is the iSilo Reader?
The iSilo Reader is a document reader that presents documents on a mobile device screen. You must download the iSilo Reader and install it on your mobile device in order to view any IEEE Mobile publications. (Back to top)

How do I get the iSilo Reader and does it cost to anything to download it?
There is a one-time fee of $19.99 USD for the iSilo Reader which enables our mobile publications to be viewed on a mobile device. The iSilo Reader can be purchased directly through iSilo Store external link. iSilo is currently offering a 30-day free trial external link of the reader, you will need to purchase it once the 30 days has expired.(Back to top)

What are the system requirements for the iSilo Reader?

How do I receive my mobile publication?
After downloading the iSilo Reader and you purchase the mobile standard you will be directed to download your publication. IEEE recommends downloading the large files to your PC first, then transferring to your mobile device. (Back to top)

Can diagrams or tables be viewed and enlarged on the mobile device?
Diagrams and images can easily be viewed on mobile devices. The iSilo document reader provides a panning function, depending on the device, allowing users to view the entire image. Not all devices have the panning function. You can also enlarge the diagram or image by clicking on an image or touching the screen. Tables can be viewed using the scrolling function. (Back to top)

Are mobile publications searchable?
The iSilo Reader provides the ability to search for terms and key phrases. Each occurrence of searched items is highlighted for easy reference. (Back to top)

Is there a User Guide provided with the iSilo Reader?
User guides are specific to the mobile device platform and are included with iSilo Reader. You can also download a User Guide external link on the iSilo website.(Back to top)

Is the iSilo Reader available in other languages?
Currently, the iSilo Reader is only available in English. (Back to top)

What if I change my mobile device and purchase a different model?
If your new device uses the same version of the iSilo Reader, then you would not need to purchase a new license for the reader. Simply install the Reader to your new device and using the same registration code, register it on the new device. Ex: You are changing from a Dell Axim x51v (Windows Mobile Pocket PC) to the HTC Touch Pro (Windows Mobile Pocket PC).

If your new device uses a different version of iSilo Reader, you will need to purchase a new license. Ex: If you had a Motorola Q (Windows Mobile Smartphone) and you purchased an HP iPAQ (Windows Mobile Pocket PC).

Is an Internet connection to view the mobile publication on my device?
Once the iSilo Reader and the mobile publication are downloaded to your device you do not require Internet access and can view the standard anywhere, anytime. (Back to top)
