What is Web Delivery of IEEE Standards?

IEEE Standards are presently available in two media, paper and electronic. Our electronic files are pdfs, which are available as two services:

Web Delivery allows a purchaser to take delivery of individual Standards documents via the Web.

How does the service work?

Orders for the electronic standards are taken in the traditional manner byIEEE Customer Service (mail, fax, phone). Once the pre-paid order is received, IEEE will send you a URL for the download, via email. Click on the URL, and the download process will start. Multi order of Standards are zipped for quicker downloads. Please read our information on Zip/Unzip prior to beginning the download.

How do I order IEEE Standards for delivery via the Web?

  3. Give a valid, accurate email address at the time of the order.

You will receive a URL in an email from IEEE Standards. Use the URL in your web browser to download the standard.

How does the download process work?

You will receive an email with the URL for download. Either directly click on that URL, or copy it to your browser window. Go to that URL to start the download process.

Where will I find other information on IEEE standards?

Please visit the following URLs for other information on IEEE standards:

I'm having trouble downloading my standard.

Certain builds of Netscape, Internet Explorer, and AOL do not properly display embedded PDF files within the browser. Instead they may display a blank screen, or an error message, or a blank screen with a small document icon in the corner.

Examples of these error messages include "File does not begin with '%PDF-'" and "Error reading xref entry."

Adobe recommends getting around this by configuring Acrobat Reader as a helper application rather than as a plugin. For help doing this, please refer to Acrobat's help file or visit the Adobe website. (http://www.ci.lincoln.ne.us/main/helppdf.htm)
