Dr. Yi Yang Dr. Yi Yang, Senior Engineer, State Grid Jiangsu Electric Power Company Research Institute

Dr. Yi Yang (SM'13, M'14) received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering and automation from Chongqing University, Chongqing, P.R. China, in 2005, and the M. S. degree in electrical engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China, in 2007, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and electronic engineering from Queen’s University Belfast, Northern Ireland, U.K., in 2013.

From 2007 to 2010, he was with the Yuhang Power Supply Bureau of State Grid Corporation, Hangzhou, China. Currently, he is a Senior Engineer in State Grid Jiangsu Electric Power Company Research Institute, Nanjing, China. His current research interests include FACTS, relay protection, IEC 61850 based smart substation, and smart grid cybersecurity.

Dr. Yi Yang has published over 30 journal/conference papers. He has participated in writing three English books, and particularly one of them is named Unified Power Flow Controller Technology and Application published by Elservier in July 2017. Dr. Yang has served as a member of IEEE PES SBLC Asia-pacific Working Group and also a member of Cigrè SC D2 AG.02.
